Growing, growing, growing

7 weeks old today. Whoaaah! Where IS the time going?

Yes, her left arm IS purple. We noticed this shortly after our little photo session. Oopsie!

Daisy has had a pretty good week with not very much to report. Sleeping about the same, puking about the same, blowing out our diapers about the same, coming out in rashes about the same. The only two things that seem to have increased are our length (we no longer fit in most newborn clothes because we're too long but we're not yet fat enough to fill-out most 0-3 month clothing) and the amount of cuteness!

Coupled with this, she is definitely getting more aware of her surroundings, smiling more, and making little "cooing" sounds when she is entertained, even by the most banal things (like a ceiling fan or the sound of my voice.) She can now quite easily entertain herself in the swing, awake, without supervision now for 20 minutes at a time. Of course, it's not ANY 20 minutes, you gotta pick the right time, but it's 20 minutes more than we had before, so we'll take it!

Last night we had another episode of the mysterious night-waking battery toy. You may remember the episode with the Bloody Bear, well last night it was something else entirely... only this time at 1am! The little lights/music soother we have attached to the bars on her crib for when she gets older suddenly, and inexplicably, decided to turn itself on at 1am, waking our sleeping little girl and then, of course, us. It was a pretty harsh reality to only get a few hours of sleep vs. our usual 5+ and we still have NO IDEA what caused the toy to jump to life in the wee hours of the morning. All I know is, we're taking the damn batteries out of that thing tonight.

Finally, today marked the return of Nanny, who is currently half-drunk in her hotel room near San Francisco Airport (she'll kill me for telling you that!) Since there was NO WAY any of us were going to brave pre-holiday traffic on a Friday afternoon out of the city, we're jumping in the car at 6am tomorrow to bring her home. I can't wait for her to see Daisy after her 3 weeks away - she has grown so much in just that short span of time.

Thanks for keeping up-to-date with our little Daisers. Here are some more pics from this past week to njoy.

She is so alert, I love it. She'll be so much fun to be around as she grows up.

Friday afternoon into the city isn't always a problem, but out can be a doozy...

Did I mention I love Daisy's eyss? Consider this your only warning: I'll be kissing her little pretty eyes next time I see her...lots!
